OUR TEAM

Meet the Team Behind KTH Outdoor Club

The KTH Outdoor Club is managed by a dedicated student board that organizes a wide range of activities. From trip planning and financial management to collaborating with gear providers and running safety workshops, we handle it all.

As a THS association, our goal is to unite students from KTH and universities across Stockholm to explore the outdoors together.

Join us at our monthly Event Organizing Evenings (EOE) to meet the board and take part in planning upcoming events!

Hello everyone, I'm Nils the chair of KTHOC!

  3. I do sports to be able to eat more!

  4. Zeche Zollverein/Baldeneysee

  5. Finding shortcuts

Hej hej! I am JP, the co-chair of KTHOC!

  1. In 2021 I was on my way to a hike in the Swiss Alps near Lausanne when I met a Swede who was joining the hike. We became friends and eventually boyfriends, and 3+ years later I’m living in Sweden all because I randomly met a cute Swedish guy in a train station, minutes before a hike.

  2. A backpacking trip in New Zealand with Merry and Pippin. Can’t skip second breakfast.

  3. I officiated my best friend’s wedding this summer!

  4. Laguna de Bacalar, Quintana Roo <3

  5. You want to jump off a cliff? I’ll jump with you. You want to paddle one more hour? I’ll paddle. You want to keep going when nobody else wants? I’ll keep going.

Hej, I’m Arne the Treasurer of KTHOC taking care of all things finance!

  1. Two years ago we were doing a road trip on the Lofoten in Norway and camped on top of a mountain. At midnight the dense cloud cover lifted and it was as if the still setting midnight sun was rising. Absolutely magnificent - let alone the rainbow on the other side. Back then I officially peaked in life when it comes to nature views

  2. Literally anywhere in the world - as long as it's with good friends and loved ones

  3. I managed to electro-shock myself on three continents last year; never before and (hopefully) never again

  4. Back home building houses out of wooden boxes on my parents' apple farm

  5. Making sure everybody has a good time :)

Hej hej! I'm Sophia, the membership coordinator of the club.

  1. I went “off grid” camping in the English countryside, only to end up in a village where we stopped to go thrift shopping and get fish and chips.

  2. My dream is to visit Son Doong Cave in Vietnam, it is the world's largest cave and I think it is something that cannot be captured through a camera. As cheesy as it is, I think my friends are the best adventurers company-wise :)

  3. My dog is shared between 12 people and 3 homes!

  4. The Cornish Coast!

  5. Keeping spirits high

Hey! I'm Paul, your responsilbe Gear Manager at KTHOC!

  1. I accidentally ripped a sail in half on a sailing trip…

  2. With Wolfgang Güllich somewhere in Patagonia.

  3. I can be bought/bribed with Ritter Sport chokolad.

  4. My home crack called ‘the arena

  5. I can cheer you up any wall in the world :)

Hi! I'm Kim, one of the PR managers at KTHOC!

  1. Got a flat tire on the way to a trail head, then lost both mine and my climbing partners phones, got stuck on a ridge during a lightning storm and woke up in a valley surrounded by deer - all in one weekend trip.

  2. Climb the pickets with Fred Beckey

  3. I have a twin sister

  4. North cascades/Glacier Peak Wilderness in Washington State

Hey! I'm Julia, one of the PR managers at KTHOC!

  1. Our car getting completely swamped by a massive herd of cows and not being able to move at all during a trip in Sweden

  2. Anywhere with David Attenborough so he can read night time stories to me to fall asleep to

  3. I've already lived in over 14 different flats throughout 6 cities.

  4. By the dunes on an island by the german north see

  5. I bring a hot water bottle and fill it with left over pasta cooking water to stay warm at night

Hello everyone! I'm Maxime, Event Manager at KTHOC!

  1. Thinking you're the king of off-piste skiing, only to end up stuck looking for your ski for 20 minutes, or getting to the bottom of a ski resort and not having the right pass to go back up.

  2. In Greenland! With Mike Horn, and he speaks French too.

  3. I need a daily dose of chocolate, it's my fuel. I'm currently addicted to KEX chocolate bars.

  4. My favorite spot is in Brittany, called the 'Pink Granite Coast,' and it really is pink.

  5. I'd say finding trails, some more sketchy than others

Hey! I'm Philipp, Event Manager at KTHOC!

  1. I met this guy in the Australian outback who used a forklift to lift my 4WD and helped me fix the suspension. Saved my trip - there was nothing for the next 400km!

  2. Patagonia with Reinhold Messner

  3. I can wiggle my ears!

  4. Lake of Constance (Schwäbisches Meer <3)

  5. Sleeping anywhere, in any weather, without getting cold or uncomfortable

Hi, I'm Laura, one of the club's event managers!

  1. Driving through the desert, we were caught in a sudden downpour of rain and the ground turned to mud. To not get stuck, we had to stop there for 18 hours until the ground was dry again. We fortunately had a camper and good company :)

  2. Trying to catch the southern lights in Antarctica with Amelia Earhart

  3. I enjoy taking a “dopp” regardless the climate or time of year

  4. Lands End, SF, CA / Lappland, Sweden

  5. Being excited to try anything

Hello everyone, it's your events manager Björn here!

  1. I went on a family trip to Norway and ended up freediving in the world’s strongest tidal current, Saltstraumen, with some crazy Finnish dudes. We were spearfishing for some giant arctic halibut

  2. As being primarily a boulderer I would choose to camp in Rocklands with Aidan Roberts to hopefully learn something from the Master himself

  3. I do like pineapple on pizza. Sorry Italians

  4. My favorite outdoor place in Germany must be Rügen. You usually get a reliable gust of wind for sailing or kiting

  5. Hiding a French press in someone’s backpack only to see their face when asking them to make me a coffee

Hey! I'm Damianos, Event Manager at KTHOC!

  1. During a massive storm in the middle of the night in the Italian Alps, the air was so strong that it took away my waterproof tent cover. So, my only choice in order to survive was to hike back to the car, all wet and sleep there, and the worst part was that the AC of the car didn’t work.

  2. In Patagonia with David Attenborough (when he was younger). His voice and the way of description are the calmest of all.

  3. I am a little bit of an adrenaline junkie.

  4. Grammos mountain in northern Greece. One of the best hikes I have ever done.

  5. To be the calm voice in your head in case something went wrong (Most of the time it will be, and that's the beauty of outdoor adventures).

Hello everyone, I'm Fotis!

  1. Recreating Indiana Jones scenes (by accident) with a very close friend of mine while hiking.

  2. Antarctica camping with Nirmal “Nims” Purja.

  3. I am a volunteer firefighter back in my home country.

  4. Pindus mountain range

  5. Magically transform a 5km walk into a 20km "in the middle of nowhere trying to survive" hike...

Hey! I'm Lukáš, Event Manager at KTHOC!

  1. We were on the hike in High Tatras, the weather was very nice. In five minutes the weather suddenly changed and a huge storm came. Lightning hit the hill where we were 10 minutes ago. It was very unexpected.

  2. For sure, Patagonia. I am afraid I don’t know many adventurers, but let's say Rick (from Rick and Morty) this might be fun.

  3. I am a huge fan of the Balkan countries. I’ve been to each of them at least once.

  4. Teplické skály without any doubt.

  5. Carrying useless stuff while hiking because I thought it might come handy (it never does)
